Enlarged image of red and white Coronavirus spore

As the concern for the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to grow, please know that the Village is closely monitoring the situation. As of April 3rd, there were 3,815 cases in Chicago and 2,658 cases in surrounding Cook County. We urge you to take an abundance of caution to help contain and limit the spread of the Coronavirus. Let’s unite in this fight!

Police Department Update

  • Regular police department services will continue to operate on a daily basis. However, the Police Department lobby is closed to the public until further notice. In addition to the information provided below, please check our Police Department Webpage for additional daily updates.

Street Maintenance

Street maintenance parking enforcement will be temporarily suspended until further notice.  Public works will continue working throughout the town, so residents are being asked to obey their street maintenance signs when practical. All street maintenance parking restrictions are suspended until further notice, but other parking related regulations remain in effect.

Court Dates:

River Grove adjudication court scheduled for Wednesday April 1, 2020 and May 6, 2020, has been postponed.  The new date is Wednesday July 1, 2020.

Non-Emergency Issues:

In an effort to limit person-to-person contact with police officers and police administrative staff, residents are being asked to call in non-emergency issues over the phone or email those issues to the police department.  An officer will be assigned to return the call, to the reporting person, and that officer will advise what, if any, further police action will be taken regarding the matter.  All non-emergency issues should be called into the communications center at (708) 453-2121.  If you wish to send an email message regarding a non-emegency issue, please use the newly established police email address dedicated for non-emergency reports only:

When you call or email, please provide the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your address
  • The nature of your call
  • The best available call back number

Calls will be returned in a timely manner and in the order in which they were received.  For practical purposes, non-emergency issues should be considered a matter that does not require the immediate presence of a police officer.

Enforcement of restaurant closings will be coordinated according to direction from the state.

Police responses have been altered and officers are not to enter buildings on a call unless requested by fire department.

The police department has posted the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) notice on the front door of the police station along with directions on what to do if you require non-emergency police assistance.
